BO Labored Breathing, Crackling, Wheezing and light sneezing

Mine never even LOOKED like they were molting, but there were feathers EVERYWHERE!!! There were a couple mornings I went to the coop & SWORE a raccoon had to have gotten in there based on how many feathers were all over, but no one was missing or injured so it had to be molting feathers

That's how I felt! Plus my chickens are young! 7 months old - but there are feathers EVERYWHERE. And Harriet was obviously losing feathers. Still and though, day two of antibiotics and her comb and wattles are brighter in color and I was outside with her this morning for almost two hours and I didn't hear her sneeze once. Things are looking good so far. Well, except for the ridiculous amount of feathers I raked up, lol.

A lot of mine are right around 4-5 months, but several are older, and EVERY pen is full of feathers right now!!!! My kids have brought me in so many feathers I have a Large shipping box over 1/2 full already!!!

I should have been saving mine. We could have had a real labor-of-love pillow. XD The silkie feathers are the most abundant. It's pretty funny. XD

Good work chicken mama! I am SO glad Harriet is on the mend! Wonderful news and I hope she keeps it up.Pearl is much better too. Today is 8 of 10 on the antibiotics and Polyvisol vitamins. She still has intermittent heavy breathing, but no "panting". She has good poop (as she has had from the beginning of this mess), a great appetite, though just a little bit slower than her normal self. So happy for this site and community.

Nsampsel ~ I have let this opportunity pass me by, lol. But I will be ready next time! I feel so bad for them - just walking around going bald, lol. :D

Oliver ~ So happy to hear that Pearl is doing better.

I picked up some VetRX and nutri-drench in case we run into issues in the future. I do, at least, feel a bit more prepared. I hope she continues to improve and is back to normal very soon. I'm incredibly thankful for this community, as well.

My coop is FULL of half bald chickens...LOL My daughter was looking at my head roo this morning & said "Mom, why is his neck naked!!! What's wrong with him!!!!" I just started laughing. Told her he was molting just like the girls were & that's why she keeps finding all those pretty feathers she keeps bringing me. "What's molting Mom..." Had to explain they lose their feathers so newer prettier ones can grow back in
