BO-Not Egg Bound- Red Hot Swollen under butt/vent

I took a syringe and tried to draw out anything but got NOTHING. The whole area is very red and hot. It feels like something possibly soft and lump towards her legs but I am unsure if that is normal anatomy or not. I'll take some pictures of her butt and post them.

Her sore bottom:

If she has a fever she probably does have an infection. There are several antibiotics that folks on here use. Use the serch to see the many options you have there. I would'nt wait too much longer to get going on this.

I got some Penicillin G Procaine but it only gives instructions for horses, pigs and cows. Please I am looking for dosage info and the search isnt' helping much

I gave her an injection. Put her in a dog crate with food and water. She has been standing staring at the wall. She hasn't touched the feed, boiled egg or water I gave her. She never sits (that I have witnessed) Her pupils are tiny and never changing. She seems to be able to see but doesn't really respond. Its like she is catatonic.

HELP

Try again to drain something out of the swollen, squishy area that's hanging down in the back. Use a syringe and make sure the needle is inserted deeply and angled toward the bottom of the "water balloon" and see if you can draw anything out. You may not have inserted the needle deeply enough. There shouldn't be any organs or anatomy to hang down in the back and when it hangs like that, it is normally filled with fluid. I have a hen that must be periodically drained of a clear water about every three months.

I don't know what to tell you. It sounds like you're doing everything you can for now--Isolated in dog crate, water and cooked egg available, started on pen g. It doesn't sound like she's doing really well, but maybe the antibiotic will help. I agree with the others that she likely has an infection of some sort because of how hot she is. It sounds somewhat like egg peratonitis (internal laying) but I haven't had a case of that here yet so I'm not sure. Try to do a search on internal laying with orpingtonmanor as the author. She had a hen that she worked with for a long time. I think she eventually lost her girl, but there is a lot of info. on meds and dosages in the thread that you may find helpfull.

I found the thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=258560

Here's
another thread by speckledhen on her internal layers https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=105308

Both
of these are pretty long, but written by people who are knowlegable and really good at sharing the information that they have gathered. I'm not sure that this is what is going on with your girl, but either way these threads are worth the read and will hopefully give you some ideas. Best of luck!!

Thanks Kittymama

One thing that has me worried is her poop is all white. I looked at the links you provided and that can be a sign of E Coli....that scares the CRAP out of me. My hen finally after 48 hours drank some water. She hasn't touched her eggs or feed. But took a couple bites of raman noodles. She seems a little more alert today, not so catatonic.
