Hi Lisa,
Yes they are. I sold them last fall. They were from Ideal. Pretty birds alright, but very flighty in personality even though they were handled just as much as my BO were. And their eggs were not dark at all. Hence why I sold them.

Thanks, Christina... I have also been excited because they have gotten quite fluffy like they're supposed to... I've seen a lot of pics of buff orps that are kinda skinny-looking and I was hoping I wouldn't end up with birds like that. So far, they're good-looking ladies!

Thanks for sharing the pics. My Cuckoo Marans have mixed personalities... the pullets are starting to come around and not be afraid of people, and I have one fairly friendly little roo. My biggest roo (looks a lot like the one in your pic) is a big, handsome, pain in the butt who thinks he's tough but is afraid of my hand! He squeaks and runs away if I so much as think about touching him.

Anyway, they are from McMurray and they claim to breed for egg color, so here's hoping. I'll let you know how they lay when they start
