BO Wattles at 2 1/2 weeks

I did a little research this afternoon and I'm pretty certain my she is a she :) I hope you can find a good home for Abe ;)

So, here we are at 5 weeks. That comb and wattle are still pink. I've resigned myself to the fact that this chick is going to need a new home, and the kids are ready. It's my husband who is in complete denial.

I've been doing searches, and am frustrated by posts like this that are never updated after the poster knows for sure. I promise to follow up once we hear a crow or see an egg.

Egg, egg, egg!!!

I said I'd keep this thread updated for posterity. Here is Penny/Abe at about 8 weeks. She/he is now 11 weeks, and I need to take an updated photo.
Other than the early red comb and wattles, I don't see any signs of roo. Of course, I'm no where near an expert on what to look for. ;)
Will Penny/Abe stay, or will she/he go? Stay tuned...

At 8 weeks, still a roo. :) Wait till 14-15 weeks when the saddle feathers come in. :) My last BO roo got his saddle feathers in pretty late, was probably close to 4 months!

Shhhh. ;) I'm innocently believing that I can will this chicken into being a hen. hee hee.
I'll post again in 3 or 4 weeks, and have you take another look for saddle feathers. Thanks.

Well, if it helps, here is a pic of my BO pullet. She's about 14 weeks old in this pic (I think). He comb & wattles are barely in yet, and her legs are still pretty thin.

Here's Penny at 14 weeks. Tomorrow, he's moving out. I woke up to his crowing yesterday. Mystery solved. We found him a nice home on a nearby farm. Out of our 3 chickens, he's been my favorite. I was hoping he would be an exception to the idea that a comb at 2 weeks would = a rooster, but it wasn't in the cards.
