Boar Coon in Neighbors Mobile Henhouse: My Dog and I Respond

Dog and pony time. Photos (second and third taken about dawn).

First figure a Google Earth image showing route Scoob takes when patrolling after dark. House to raccoon is about 900 feet while house to pens in pasture is about 400 feet. Loop is nearly 2,500 feet and Scoob can run it checking each pen or roosting group of birds in less than 5 minutes.

Neighbor's electrified run attached to mobile roost / henhouse about 900 feet from my front porch.

Closeup showing coon and two dead hens in livetrap on mobile roost / henhouse.

Scoob (German Short-haired Pointer) approximately 65 lbs.

Is that the same Scoob that was posted as a pup?
He sure is pretty!
Yes, he still acts a bit puppish but that will hopefully be grown out of by fall. He is pretty but also small size for breed. He is very athletic has has excellent spatial smarts in that he knows how get from point A to B and knows where to go based on birds making ruckus.

BANDIT'S REVENGE

I have reason to suspect neighbor did not take raccoon carcass very far. And Scoob found it, and rolled in it, and just came into house smelling not of roses! Scoob was happy and was even happier when wife gave him a bath. Scoob likes taking baths.

I'm trying not to laugh but I got an awful big smile goin' at the picture of you two both fighting the electric fence in the middle of the night! Don't worry...there''s a lot of sympathy there as I've had plenty of my own encounters with electric fence--except ours was charged enough for cattle!

The charger was same as used for cattle. Zap I think is more for keeping critters out than keeping chickens in.
