I'll have to check to see what I have. I got mine from Lacy Greer in Arizona. He has very nice ones.
I have some from him as well. Last show season I traded him some Runner ducks for them.

Bob,http://www.jefferspet.com/category....hicken-vaccines&utm_term=vaccine for chickens
I have not vaccinated in years but the new silkies and other birds I better. They are five times worse this year. Got 6 inches of rain today and five last Saturday.
Up above is the vaccine kits for fowl pox you guys can order. I am going to tractor supply store tomorrow to see if they have some in their frig. If not order from Jeffers .
It can be deadly. I told this fellow that I thought it was fowl pox. These chickens the mottled javas never been exposed maybe to them or they got bit down here and carried on to Texas. They will live. Thank you experts that is why we come to this tread. bob
I am wondering same thing ..Why Pa and not NY? NY has changed nothing..they said unless this is begins to become a problem then there is no need they would contact us if a problem arises for vaccine ect...Pa in recent years has had different outbreaks in cattle and poultry..brucilociss imported into the state from western herds and cant remember what the outbreak was in poultry but pretty sure it wasnt pox..its strange that they make the poultry owner provide proof that the birds are tested for pullorum and not an inspector.. almost any live vaccine will shed that is why you have to vaccinate the entire flock instead of a group...so virus into another state if its live virus if Pa person vaccinates 2 weeks befor a show. that bird can shed . they should vaccinate early in the year with the babies..there isnt much supervision down there..they should at least provide classes for those interested in learning about this..Please can someone explain this vaccination to me? Is this the one which sheds in the flock and any birds ever after have to be vaccinated? Here in PA, They have changed the rules for showing at the fairs and Farm Show. Birds must now be given a certain live vaccine that has everyone up in arms because it can shed in the flock and make unvaccinated birds sick. Is this that vaccine? Does this Pox vaccine mean we can't eat eggs or meat? I am sadly confused on the vaccine front in poultry.
It's like South Carolina here this last month. Muggy and rain every afternoon. So tired of it. The runs are tarped but still way too damp for my liking for my birds. The Marans never minded it, gaily sloshed thru rain, and snow. But I see the Sussex require a drier run and am a bit worried about all this continued dampness.
Best,
Karen
I thought same thing..they like to gather around birds eyes ...but not really sure if that is leision or tick...ticks like that area the bird wont scratch so hard around thier eye...Bob,
I just blew that photo of yours up. Have you put your specs on, and really looked at that lesion? It almost looks like a tick to me. Around the eyes is a favorite spot for ticks. It IS funny that you have 2 birds with lesions in the same spot, and none on combs, or the rest of the faces.Darned bugs, whichever it is !
It is my opinion that what you tolerate is what you deal with. I do not deal with it, because I will not tolerate it.I would like to thank each and every person who took the time and replied to my post about the problems I have been having with my unruly cockerel. I deeply appreciate your help!

Salmon Favorelles are a neat old breed and God Knows they need foster parents like any other H breed. I had a old man that had hem as a kid and they where good sitters for him that's why he had them. Normally in the deep south of Alabama the heat is hard on Cochins, Feathered feet chickens ect. However, if there is a breed you want they will in time adjust to your climate.
Normally feathered legged chickens are Asiatic in Breed. Most of the people on this tread have a dual purpose chickens they get best of both worlds. One thing to consider is check out the folks in Arizona and New Mexico who have Standard Breed Chickens and get you some from them. You can go this time of the year and pick up older breeders a year or two old or some young birds that have color faults or one point to many big deal and get a good start for next year. They are ready to go for your climate and that is a bonus from getting chickens from some one like in New York or Minnesota.
What other breeds have you thought of? Let us know there are some good chickens in Arizona right now that I know of. Be patient you will find just what you want. bob
