Actually, I don't know a darn thing about those fancy Colonial Rocks, so I shouldn't be guessin' atall.

Since you'll be drinking, I'll help you out, good buddy. My other choice, and NOT SEEING THESE BIRDS IN PERSON, is the K with the low tail on the far right in this photo. Yeah, I know, low tail. But low tail are way way easier than squirrel tails, pinched tail, or whatever. He'll probably pick that tail up some when he's the cock of the walk.

Totally agree with Fred's choices....

SOP is same no matter the variety...except color....and even to an amateur those 2 picks have that as equal if not better than the others.

It's an inside joke. Dumb thing I typed Sunday morning, early, while fasting coffee. Oh never mind. It was funnier then. It was a really brain freeze moment, or disconnect between my numb brain and my too fast fingers.

Ok.....sorry for the delay, but above is my #2 pick, Vickie requested pix of my #1 choice. It took a week (sorry), but the boss beckons. He is not in a cage like above, but I think these give you a pretty good idea of what I'm looking at. PLEASE PLEASE, critiques, strengths/weaknesses, thoughts, advise (I've gotten a lot tougher so nothing bothers me anymore when it comes to the birds)....thanks. Remember you can click on the photo for a larger view

I'll let you pick him out of these groups shots....

Gotta be making some decisions come October....any help is appreciated!!
Ok....Fred was right.....in the group shot (both pix) he is on the far left....Vickie, your pick and my #2 choice is the one on the far right in the group of 4 birds. The bird on the left is slightly wider than the one on the left and weighs about 1/2 lb more.....likely that both will be kept, truth been known

NOW - a question for all. I was just told I lack the "striping" necessary in the hackles and saddles of Columbians, and was told it is a common fault. Can someone elaborate? Possibly tell me how to correct?

Thanks

I wanted to post these to pictures together to compare color. Trying to locate matts 1616 male but my eyes are playing tricks on me this am so will look latter. This will give us a good comparison to the old USA and the New German color and then the Standard of Perfection Picture from the APA Standard. Bob
WELL THANK YOU FOR THIS TREAT. I was looking at these on my I pad and said I need to line them all up like a poulty show. What a display of handsom male New Hampshires.

This gives us a good idea of what the top lines look like and compare to the standard picture. I am impressed with the male from picture three for type. If this is a cross someone hit a home run for type.

Keep up the good work you all. LURKERS see any thing like this at the feed stores? GET YOU SOME NOW.

The New Hamp you like Bob? I understand it is Jeremy Woepple's bird. It doesn't seem to matter if you're talking NH, White Rock or Barred Rock that Jeremy (JWhip) just keeps breeding outstanding birds. I don't know Jeremy, but I'd sure like to meet him. He does have the midas tough. Gifted is a word that comes to mind. I know Jeremy would likely give a lot of credit to Frank Reese, Doug Akers and others upon whose foundation he has built, but frankly? If I knew Jeremy was going to show at Crossroads or Lucasville, I'd go just to shake his hand. Two thumbs up.
