congrats to Jenn..wow! They are very nice birds...I am sorry to change to subject, but could someone refresh my mind...I thought I saw somewhere on this thread that there is a special fee you can buy to have your eggs more gently handled...I looked back and can't find it so I maybe losing my mind...I love to read and learn off this thread...only in my dreams will I have the quality of birds many of you have...just amazing..

I'd be wary of the "special handling" how can you be sure that it's being handled any better than any other box?

On a side note, be careful with your older breeders ladies and gents. One of my white Langshans nearly killed over dead today. I put her in with a new male, he tried to breed and I saw her comb go from a bright red to DARK purple. A vessel in her eye burst and she just laid there.

Since working with Cornish X I knew it was a heart problem. She's now separated and doing fine. Figures...she's the typiest white hen I have! Had no idea she was that old. Ah well...if I can keep her separated and safe as well as laying eggs, so be it. Yet another reason to infuse another bloodline into them. She's the first bird that has EVER done this, aside from the Cornish X. So be careful when transferring birds around to new pens.

Hope all of your eggs are hatching!

I had to laugh reading that post... imagining a great grandma with the cabana boy.... Hopefully she pulls through fine... you might want to try introducing him more slowly? Can he be put in a pen of 6+ females that she's used to, then gradually take all the females out but her?

Hi Cydney83 -

I think what you are looking for is post #3615 on this thread.

Thank you...I reread it...I ordered eggs recently and not a one developed...I put a local egg in and it did...air cells were a mess...so I thought I will try it once and see how it goes....
