This is from a show last year, but it is the same bird. He is in an awkward pose here, he looks better in person.

It is hard for a Mallard to beat the other bantam ducks.

Yeah it is. Great win. Don't think I've ever seen a Mallard in better condition.

After taking some advice, I decided to grow out some chicks in the early fall/winter.

So far, I am VERY impressed with the largefowl growing out at this time. I decided to do more bantam white Langshans, since they need the most work, and am hoping they turn out as well as the largefowl are doing.

I see some very promising blues coming out so far. Along with an odd white bird Langshan. Wonder how that one got in there? Ah well. The more, the merrier!

To all of those who are as crazy as I am and hatching chicks out STILL, good luck!

Glad I'm not alone. I've got a hatch coming off as we speak. Don't always do this but it works out well for bantams for the spring shows.

He looks really nice, is he angled to the back corner of the cage? I have a friend that raises these, going to show a few for him this weekend.

What show are you going to be at this weekend? If its the Eastern Iowa Show I may see you there.
