I am not sure if you think the Buff Wyandotte is a new color variety. It was accepted into the A.P.A. SOP in 1898.Hope most folks take the old faithful route and take on a color and breed that needs help. Good example the Buff Wyandottes. How many people have them today that are worth a darn. bob

Silver Lace Wyandotte 1883
White Wyandotte 1888
Gold Lace Wyandotte 1888
Black Wyandotte 1893
Silver Penciled Wyandotte 1895
Partridge Wyandotte 1901
Columbian Wyandotte 1906
The Wyandotte needs a lot of help and some dedicated breeders.
Which variety or varieties are in greatest need?

I think Bob is referring to the quality of the bird maintained by those who have them. If attention is not given to a good line of birds and selective culling is not practiced, then even quality birds can become less over time.
Quote: Thanks, Looked him up. Mr.Herbert Holtz was a well-known long time breeder of Silver Laced Wyandottes and showed his birds all over the midwest. He had SLW from 1953 until his death in 2002.
But he is not my breeder.....any other suggestions?
