Evening all....been 4+ days of NOTHING but rain. I let out my "grow out cockerels" this afternoon. Pictures aren't great, but gives you an idea of the type I have kept...best 5 I raised this year. These cockerels are 6 1/2 months old, from 2 different sires

I don't blame them with their heads down in that grass after all that rain...makes it tough to get even catch them in a 'semi-SOP' profile photo (-:
IMAO---congrats!!
It's so great that you have 5 nice ones to pick your best 2....I see my favorite from these photos which is limiting...more paramount---you've handled them and watched them...
Scott, what's your bias at this point??

In the last pix (with 4) he is the bottom right....wide from front to back. I call him JJ (Jack Jr). His sire is "Jack" and he looks like his daddy, with a better tail

He's a Dandy

The second and third pictures are JJ by himself.....he has a very similar stature to his sire, better wing carriage and should be larger. I call his mama "big foot"....she is an 8lb hen, flat tail, nice chest but poor wing carriage....she has feet like a cock bird (HUGE)

I need to see a profile shot. How deep is his chest ? Comb ? Yup ! Always ask the hard questions, but I'd snatch him just on that group photo.

I'm headed to Tampa tomorrow.....will try to get an individual picture (profile) when I return. in my opinion, his chest is deeper than his sire, comb is "ok" (I dont like it as well has his father's but it is ok.....still young, but his father's comb is darn near perfect), feathering seems a bit tighter which was needed, legs slightly wider apart, hackle/saddle color much better than sire. At 6 1/2 months he is larger than his sire was. His father was barely 7lbs, he is 7 lbs 11 oz

I'm hoping hatching in Dec will give me a little additional size
