OK, That is all I see......Good Luck & I am glad I had something to do as my MiL is in ICU possibly dying...had a pace maker replaced last week & developed a severe infection that has gone body wide from the heart all over...her kidneys are shutting down, having horrible pain & the infection may be in her neck & spinal column now...She has been flown from the littl rural hospital in Lake County (Nor Cal) to Santa Rosa to St Joseph Memorial where there are hordes of specialists caring for her now...DH drove down there yesterday at more than likely over 70 MPH......so now we waite and I am happy I had something to do besides staring at my phone & praying for DH's Mom...she is a wonderful sweet woman!

Hi everyone, Here is the follow-up on the post office and shipping hatching eggs. A couple of weeks ago I sent a letter to the post master of two of the post offices in my area and also to the main office to file a complaint for them to follow through on a reply. I placed the inquiry as to what conditions and treatment my package would get if shipped out priority mail and having special handling applied to the package. Also I included an example of the harsh treatment that was applied to a package that was sent priority mail where all the eggs were destroyed (cracked shells and ruptured air cells) by such rough mishandling. Here is their reply.

So would it be worth the extra money to ship out express mail with the term live to be applied? If it is coming from the horses mouth than it must be so. This is what I wanted to see. Something on paper stating how the item is going to be shipped. will be shipping out eggs soon so I will let you know if it is worth the effort. Best to all, John

Hi John, I read the letter thoroughly but kind of skimmed through the post. I ship several dozen eggs per week and have for several years and rarely do I have a problem from the post office. I think I have only had one damaged box within the last three years. For me shipping is an added expense and try to keep it down for people who buy from me so I just send everything priority mail and stamped all over that it is fragile. Both places I ship from really try to be careful with the boxes. I don't know what happens after they leave but they usually do fine. So after all that long windedness LOL. It would not be worth it to me to pay more money for the shipping IMO. Travis

Express mail as "live" doesn't guarantee hatchability. I'm sure they're not going to cover 100% of eggs sold at auction for $100 just because their policy says they will. They're just trying to sell you something you don't need.

Hi folks, I took reserve American with a Buckeye pullet and reserve English with a black Australorp at the El Dorado, Ar. Southern Arkansas poultry club show today. I am absolutely thrilled. I beat out some very nice RIR. The champion American was rir, I think he also took champion large fowl, was from Autrey's friendship farm shown by Kaylee Gafford. Couldn't complain too much about not winning English, as I was beat out by my daughter's buff Orpington. This was the Australorp rooster I got 2 weekends ago for my barred Holland project. It was a nice show, It was good to see such a nice large fowl turnout.
