New Hampshires...............

I see these New Hampshire Reds shown. Who showed these birds. They look like the old old ones I saw as a kid on many peoples farms in the 60s.

Thanks for sharing the pictures it get us to see what some birds look like. Those turkeys sure did look good. bob

I don't know who showed them, but my opinion is - - - -
well, I didn't like them.

Yeah me either I got some NH hatchery stock from Ideal that looks just like them you can see the pink earlobe on that hen and the big floppycomb theres a lot of Leghorn influence there and even one cockerel looks too leghorny too. They are not good representatives for the breed IMO

my opinion don''t count for much on here, I know, it but ITS MINE LOL

Thanks. The fact that you can't tell that she is a Dorking confirms that I have much work to do, improving the type in my flock.

Well, if it helps, I saw her and thought . . . "Is that a Cream Legbar? No, she's stockier (thicker?) than a Cream Legbar, must be something else with that coloring . . . "

And I haven't seen a Dorking, so I couldn't put a name to her.

(Of course, I could be wrong about the body shape of both Cream Legbars and Dorkings. Dunno.)

OMG, it's worse than I thought! Someone a few weeks ago thought one of my Dorks was a Leghorn. I'm going to go

This is what happens when you don't buy the SOP when starting a breeding program!

Don't let my ignorance influence your judgment -- I'm a complete newb and shouldn't have said anything. Sorry about that!
