How can we not love Einstein! My family is united in our love of him.

Hi Cluck-Cluck,
The best explanation of Einstein's work I ever came across was in an episode of Jacob Bronowski's superb work , the 13 part, "Ascent of Man" film series.
http://www.strategicforesight.com/bookreview_ascentofman.htm
I will never understand the math. However, the concepts behind it were eloquently explained by Bronowski in the episode titled, "The Majestic Clockwork". The Ascent of Man series was voted #65 out of the top 100 film series ever made. I watched in back in the 70's when I was in college. Unfortunately, Bronowski died a year after it was shown, or who knows what other scientific treats he would have made for us.
Based on the totality of the all inclusive ascent of man, I think Bronowski was an eternal optimist and rightly so. From the last paragraph of the above review:
" In the last chapter in book, titled The Long Childhood, Bronowski goes back to what makes man human and what has made the ascent of man possible. He says, “We are all afraid - for our confidence, for the future, for the world. That is the nature of the human imagination. Yet every man, every civilization has gone forward because of its engagement with what it has set itself to do. The personal commitment of man to his skill, the intellectual commitment and the emotional commitment working together as one, has made the Ascent of Man.” "

Best Regards,
Karen

Awh, Zanna,
Sorry for your loss. 14, that's a good, long run. Our collies are older now and about each year we lose one. Have the three old girls left. Foundation girl at 11 1/2; her daughter at 10; the 10 yr. old's daughter at 8 1/2.
Best,
Karen

They are good dogs. we have Cardigan Corgi's....five of them.

Off to a chicken show in NV....through a snow storm at Donner Pass. This is dedication!

Walt

OH - be careful, Walt - you'll be seeing lots of Marans there...I'll be anxiously awaiting to hear how they do, and if you judged them! Somehow I have difficulty visualizing you with Corgis. They're cute little dogs, but so.....clownish! I don't see you as the clownish type, Walt!

Hi, Karen - nope, that's a Bouvier des Flanders - here he is a few winters ago:

Oh Wynette,
Love, love, love 'um! Another one of those fantastic extra large breeds. Do you breed them?
Karen

No, I sure don't. Arnie was a fantastic dog, and I miss him terribly. We lost him a couple years ago, and when he died he took a little piece of my heart with him. Sigh.... I'll probably have another one day. I miss him terribly.

Zanna, your girl was beautiful!

I'll see ya there Walt! Be careful coming through that pass. I checked the weather this morning and its not really SUPPOSED to snow until tonight. Hopefully it will hold off and those planning on coming will head out early.

How many birds are you bringing?

My collies, rough and smooth: Pappy, 12 my chicken herder and child protector; Zip, 10 my son's collie, a furry, blurry flash of blue and white; Morgan, 7 who came to us when my mentor died and who died of a broken heart as a result, despite our best efforts; Dukie, 4 1/2 , brain-damaged as a little pup in transit to our home , every day was new to him, gone way to soon due to bad Diamond dog food.;...they have all gone now and I miss all of them.
Sigh,
Karen
