BOB PLAMONDON - LOVE HIM or HATE HIM

Whoa.. Emotions running high and we haven't even started talking about the
content.

Buff was being sarcastic from the start. That Massachusetts sarcasm can be hard
to recognize sometimes.

joe wasn't even hiding his sarcasm. If he wanted to be harsh we would all know it.

As for Bob, he's an engineer. Almost all have that obsessive, I'm right mentality.

There is a lot of good info on that site. Once I clicked the link I realized I had been
there before.

I had not realized he had an engineering background - that would explain the (to me) EXTREMELY EXCELLENT readability of his Raising Chicks book. It is not *quite* outline-style, but nearly; and it is very very complete and systematic and leave-no-detail-unmentioned. So I guess that would be why

(Also pretty funny in some places, like a comment about 'we need to avoid overcrowding if we wish to avoid caked litter. And we wish that very, very much if we wish to enjoy chicken keeping' or something like that)

I'll have to see if I have any of his books and check him out. In the mean time.....................

Yep, great men think like that all right. General Custer was a firm believer in this approach his whole life +/- a few days.

I'm a firm believer that you can learn something from everyone you come across folks that feel everyone they come across can learn something from them don't do it for me at all and that's the impression I'm getting second hand here. I will check him out though. Keystonepaul

I think it is a massive mistake to base your impression of someone on stray, mostly flippant, very brief comments made by a coupla people on the internet. I think that on reading some of Plamondon's writings, either his essays on his website or his books, you will find him unusually OPENminded and WILLING/ABLE to learn from those he comes across.

With the result that most of what he says is, in fact, right.
