Bob white quail thread!!

Haha yeah. We hatched off 70 chicks. Had to put down three. Lost about 20 from pecking an smothering.

I am just a kid so my mother limits me

I started off with 13 and never lost one until I moved them outside, I went to put them in transport cages and one had a snapped leg
and he didnt make it through the night. Another 2 flew away while I was on vacation and 1 died from pecking so I am at 9 for now but they are big and healthy and doing well

Raising quail can be tricky. I've had loses to pecking and a little smothering also. These bird are 6 weeks old now just put them I flight pen . I'll post some pics soon

Hi all, my bob whites just started laying this week

they are under light for 14 hours. Will they continue to lay thru winter?

Yes but if you do that every year theres a high chance they could die easily from exhaustion
