Can you give us more information?
How many do you have?
How many males, how many females?
How much space do they have?
What is setup like?
What are you feeding them?
Are you northern or southern hemisphere?
What is their general health like?

Also consider age of the birds, young males won’t be very good at their job yet. I don’t know much about new world quail, are they seasonal breeders, would that be an issue? Coturnix just need some extra light but my golden pheasant exposed to the same conditions is certainly not in the mood!
