I hatched some bobs over the weekend
Tenessee Red
Whites
and Buttlers

They seem to be hatching pretty normal

but some of them just can't stand and walk , what do you think had happen?

thanks

What kind of bedding do you have them on? If you have them on paper (newspaper or similar) they've messed up their hip joints. You need to start them out on cloth preferably or a non-skid rubber shelf liner.

The babys hatched like this and they still in the bator

I mean their feet look ...ok
but they are only laid on their side and cant stand up and walk

I got 30 bobs 2 days ago. Some of them have leg problem. 2-3 cannot stand and 2 can not open their claws. I just cut the glass in my lawn and dry in the sun, then used as the bedding.

I learned a good lesson hatching bobs.

#1 they need food right away.. . not just crumbles but, CRUMBLES you'll have to put the crumbles in a blender or manually crush them in order for the food to be small enough. As soon as they pop, pop them in the booder

#2 don't put the feed in a feeder but sprinke the dust around on the papertowels you have as bedding in your brooder for the first couple of days so they can easily find the food.

Bobs sometimes hatch looking wacky but they will straighten up.. most do anyways... Just be sure they have access to food or you will be doing the all night wet mash/yoguart syringe thing every few hours like I did for not being smart enough to ask on here. Im glad you are. Good Luck.

burlap sacking works well for newly hatched bobs. I have also used those cheap throw away painters drop clothes you can get at the big box stores. They have a texture that helps the chicks grip better so they don't get spraddle legged. Just cut a square big enough to fit the bottom of the brooder.
