I have 16 bob white quail eggs on day 21 in the hatcher with chukar eggs and chicken eggs. Do they need anything special , the eggs are tiny they dont really seem all that much bigger then button eggs. I am gonna guess the babies will be tiny. Should I put the eggs in a container so they are seprate from the rest of the chicks that hatch. The Hatching is going to be the 23rd 24th and 25th for the eggs in there.
Thanks

Yeah, Bobs are pretty tiny when hatched. I would suggest brooding them separately, especially from the chicken babies. Quail are smaller and slower to start eating and drinking, where as chicken babies are very active from the start. Make sure to use a chick type waterer with the quail or even a very shallow dish for watering as they can fall in and drown in a standard waterer. You can also add marbles or stones to the water font to make it difficult to fall in. Sprinkle food around in the brooders so they all can find the feed til they figure out were the food dish is. Start the brooding temp for Bobs at 97 degrees, lower it by 5 degrees each week till room temp. Do NOT crowd the bobs in as they will turn cannibalistic and kill each other. Use a red bulb to keep them calm and if they do start to get a bit aggressive, lower the temp a few degrees.
