In our last two bobwhite broods, we've experienced a high mortality rate starting in the third week or so. It looks like the top of their feet are getting sores on them, then they start picking at the sore, then they're dead within a couple days. A drop of Bactine on the injury seems to help, but I'm not sure if that's helping with the primary problem, or if it's preventing secondary infections from the picking.
I just noticed one limping, and I'm concerned this brood is affected as well. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Corey
PS, this isn't a full-scale agricultural operation, we just raise a few of them as a hobby.
