Have researched my hind end off but have read so much conflicting information on when bob chicks can be put outside. We have approx 150 5 wk old chicks that we got from hatchery today. He had them in a broader room @75° and it was extremely humid. Our weather is currently 30° day 10-15° night but is supposed to be 60° by the weekend. We have a shed that will maintain 60-70° with 2 heat lamps. When can we safely put them outside.

I would plan on getting them out this weekend. They should be fully feathered and able to stay warm. You might take the heat lamp out with them and use it at nights only. Don't put it right on them but far enough away they can use if for some warmth if they need it or not at all if they don't. In a week, you can take the heat lamp away.

If for some reason the temp decides to dip into the 20's sometime after in the next few weeks, they will appreciate the heat lamp as well.
