The eggs I have in the incubator now are my last hatch, I'm giving up if this last batch doesn't work out. All the eggs I have now I just dumped in the nest to see of the Bob's will go broody

I know they are. I've never hatched silkies or owned any but I've seen other people that had them and pictures. I'm getting jumbo coturnix tomorrow, or I'm gonna try

Are the eggs old? Shipped eggs don't do well to start with. 7 days from the first day gathered to the day they go into the incubator is as long as you want. After that they usually won't hatch & those that do die often. You also need to let eggs set 24 hours before incubating.

I forget without reading again if we mentioned high protein feed. You need around 28%. I used turkey starter unmedicated. Controlling the brooder temperature is really important. Try to keep one conner at 100F the first few days with a cooler conner that food & water are in. They need water that they can't get there head in to drawn.

Good luck.

I didn't have the eggs shipped, I got them straight from my hens in the backyard. I let them collect up to a dozen eggs in their nest before collecting them to incubate. I tried to let the quail go broody but they would only sit on the eggs an hour after laying them then they wouldn't sit ever again.
