It's always so exciting to find those little treasures!! I still get excited when a pullet comes into lay. When I got my first ever polish egg I was running into the house to show it off like a crazy lady!!

When they first begin to lay they can be sporadical layers untill they get their egg laying machine in full working order. On the other hand you may get a regular eggs, it really does depend on the bird in question. They are all individuals.

Thank you! Feels like a long time coming, for sure.

I have an all girl flock and for the last week or so one of the girls started to mount the first time layer daily. I wonder if she is in fact a He? Or did she sense an egg was coming soon? This morning was the first day mounting didnt occur.

I wonder if rooster behavior is common in an all girl flock....
