Bonded (a planetary RP)

(Within earshot, I'm sure.)
Star blinked rapidly. How had she gotten here? And who were these people? Why couldn't she remember anything that had happened today? Her thoughts were interrupted by gunfire. She leapt into the air. Humanoids lay scattered on the ground. Had they had an alien invasion? Is that why she couldn't remember? But that didn't matter now. They weren't the ones shooting.

From the air, she saw him. A man in a three-piece suit crouched behind a boulder. "Hey!" She shouted as she lunged. But the gun was faster.

She felt it hit, almost like a fly had bit her leg. Then she cried out and started to fall.

Ryan gritted his teeth. He hadn't meant to shoot her, but he wasn't too worried. It didn't even matter if she had seen his face. He could shift if he wanted to use her later. He turned his human rifle back to the aliens. They were harder to hit than he had figured. At last he hovered his sites over the Melæian.
Frosty cocked his head. I recognize that scream... he darted toward the sound. He scanned the area, seeing Star injured on the ground(?) and then his eyes fell on the shooter. He puffed out his feathers and crowed at him. "Hey you! If you shoot this camp, you'll have to go through me!" he flapped his wings in challenge, all the while wondering if the shooter would even care about a small talking rooster enough to shoot at him.

Solana hit the ground when the shooting started to avoid being hit. She looked up from the dirt to see if she could discern where it was coming from, she couldn't see the shooter but she had an idea of the direction it was coming from. She could also tell it was a human weapon and not alien. She saw Dorian and Nemra hit the ground as Erin pushed them down to protect them from the bullets. She watched Erin move on so she moved towards Dorian. "Did you bring any weapons with you?" Solana asked him.

Dorian looked up at the voice of the first girl he had met in the camp, Solana he thought. He nodded and replied, "Nemra is a weapon by herself, but without an idea where the bullets are coming from and how many attackers there are I don't think she would be much good. Plus I also have one working plasma pistol. " He said as he pulled the pistol out of its holster at his hip. He picked himself up from the ground and moved quickly to take cover at a rock across from Solana.

Solana took cover at a rock outcropping to the left of Dorian. She pulled her own weapon out and scanned the terrain for a target.

~~~~~~
Skyler had just touched the ship down and was going through dock procedures, making sure the ramp was down all that boring stuff when her ship sensors went crazy. She rushed to them and looked, before getting on the com and telling everyone to get planet side. "They are taking fire, unsure the amount of combatants, everyone get your butts off the ship and lets help them. I want to make sure there are actually living people to rescue." She barked as she finished the landing and docking list and grabbed her weapons on the way from the bridge to the cargo bay loading ramp.
Kaaras heard the alert over the coms. and gave a gruff laugh, of this would be fun. He grabbed his face plate and headed for the ramp, he really hoped he would get to hit something.
Crow opened a random door and transformed easily into a crow. He flew around in the sky, watching the ground. Where are the combatants?
Crow opened a random door and transformed easily into a crow. He flew around in the sky, watching the ground. Where are the combatants?
When Ryan saw the crow appear out of seemingly empty space, nodded to himself. This was it. This was the moment he had been waiting for. He pulled out a handle with a button on top, which was attached to a long cord. His hand started to shiver, despite the heat. If he did this wrong, he would not only give away his position, but also have an entire ships' crew on top of him.
Just as he pulled out his megaphone, he spotted the rooster. He blinked, unsure of where it had come from. But when it spoke, Ryan knew he had been busted. He took aim at the bird and popped of a single shot.
Ryan held the megaphone to his mouth. "This is the U.S. military. We have you surrounded. Repeat, we have you surrounded. Do not make any sudden movements.
Erin's eyes locked onto the man with the speaker. She wasn't sure who he was, but he didn't look like military personnel. Putting her hands over her head, she shouted, "We come in peace!" It was supposed to be some kind of human password, but she wasn't sure how effective it was.
(Now would be a good time to have the ship appear.)
Lara and Donella were both wishing they had their hands free and their guns. They were scared but helpless while tied up like this.
(Mmkay, so let me make some rules for the shape-shifters, since I can't have them all turning into bullet-proof dragons all the time.
  1. Only turn into living things
  2. Only have three shifts
  3. Pretty much everybody has a human shift, since humans are like space-orcs and everybody fears them, but this is not necessary.
  4. Don't forget, there are space animals, too!
  5. Size limits- it's dangerous for you to go smaller than a kitten, because you could get stepped on. Also, dangerous for your friends to go bigger than, say, a horse. Because you could step on someone else and kill them. Also, it's pretty hard to fight something that's like the size of a fly in comparison to you. Not practical.
  6. Feel free to mix and match. Put wings on your stuff. Make them have radioactive spit if you want, I don't care.
Hey, fun fact- a bite from a human almost always becomes infected.)
(Huronians, right? They may not heal, but they are built like a tank. You wanna see the force of Hulk? These have the force of Hulk. The horns are pretty much indestructible, and can use them as battering rams. So why would a Huronian need a human? Good question.
Humans have hands and can fire weapons. Of course, Huronians have weapons, too, but they are pretty poor shots. They are also a mild creature, and most could not bring themselves to injure something. Therefore, they hire the space-orcs: us.
A human-huronian team is a fearsome sight. In battle, the humans sometimes strap tripod weapons to their huronians' back and ride through the crowd, mowing down opponents.
More often than not, the horns just get in the way. Erin lost count of how many things Patches knocked off the tables with his spikes)
(We are the apex predator of the world. Just let that sink in for a moment. We could literally eat lion every day if we wanted to.
Now imagine not being the apex. Stay on the path or else. Keep the laws or else. Don't go over there or else. Melæians live in constant fear on their home planet. Dragons, wyverns, things with teeth that open the wrong way. About the only thing that cares for their safety is a human.
Humans are weird, okay? How could an apex be so brutal and destructive in war, and yet be gentle enough to care for other animals' young? Even the children can be trusted with this 'kitten' thing.
So when a Melæian bonds with a human, it means freedom. The ability to go anywhere at anytime. Just give the human a weapon, and you're good to go.)
(Ferals are the pirates of the universe. Steal something from one, hock it or sell it to another. Shape shifting only deepens their trickery. A Feral could steal the shirt off your back, and you might even thank him for it.
Of course, not all Ferals are like this, just like not all humans are ferocious war animals. Some lead almost normal lives, in the eyes of their human. They follow the laws- well, mostly- go to work, then come home and chill out on the couch. Hey, wanna fly around the block, just for funzies? Hey, talk to your Feral. He'll probably give you a lift.
Just never accept a gift from a Feral. Gifts are not signs of love with them. Rather the opposite.)
(But, now the Siri are a different beast altogether. They don't care who they stab in the back. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, especially if you live in the biggest city in the universe. Literally, the whole planet is city. Even underground.
Humans are used mostly for home-defense, though unwillingly so. No bond is ever really formed between a Siri and his personal army of space-orcs. A human might even turn on her 'owner'. Which may be why they are so entertaining. Some make a glass cage for their humans just so they can sit on the couch and watch the humans glare at them.
But a good Siri is unparalleled. Hey, you want a castle on the next planet? Talk to your Siri. Need a shoulder to cry on? Blubber on your Siri.
Their skin makes ours rather pale in comparison. Hues range from green to crimson, depending upon the mood. Sometimes they have trouble telling the emotions of humans when they can't watch their colors change.
But on other planets, they have to wear suits to adapt to the climates and gravity.)
Jaxson ducked down behind the rock with the girls. He looked at them worriedly, and then gained a little courage. "Stay down I will look out and see if I can figure out whats going on." He assured them as he leaned out and tried to figure out what was going on.
River fell to the ground and crawled to star "Star can you move?" Even though she hated her she realized she didn`t want her to die. River peeked around the corner of the rock and saw him, she ducked back in. When Ryan yelled she yelled back "your not military!" At least I don`t think so......
Odo (Jack) fell down behind a rock. Confusion swam in his head
Lily fell to the ground "Why would the military be shooting us?" she muttered under her breath
Worf grabbed his phaser pistol and carefully walked out
Ezor narrowed down where he thought the shooter was, given where the bullets were coming from. He approached carefully, and slipped behind rocks every chance he had. Even if it was the military, it was even more of a reason to attack. He couldnt let them kill, or even capture him or anyone else. Finally, as he was almost on top of the shooter, he came to realize this was only a boy. Ezor jumped out behind a rock and stood directly behind the boy. He raised his ray gun to point at him and shot a few times.
"Let's kick some human butt." Narti snatched a needler gun (like from halo) from the ship, with a large grin plastered across her face as usual. She quickly jumped from the entrance of the ship and made her way over to the group. She listenened closely to pinpoint where the gun firing was coming from, and she skidded to a stop behind a large boulder for protection. She could only pinpoint the relative direction the firing was coming from, so she would just have to shoot blindly, literally, at where she thought the shooter was. "Ah, this is ridiculous! I wish I could at least fight this human in hand to hand combat!" She complained as she cocked her gun.
(I will continue Narti's post once Ezor is taken care of.)
