Linda sat on one of the beds, the mattress crumpling beneath her weight, as the dark-eyed kid tried to explain the wonders of rock 'n roll. Star lay behind her, drooling on the pillow.

Crow was surprised at Erin's sudden knowledge of Feral. He stared after her for a moment, then suddenly realized he was supposed to be giving food to the humans. He hurried inside and put the tray of food on the table.

(She know a little bit of everything. You can't spend your entire life around another language without picking up a few phrases. She just has trouble making some of the noises.)

Erin plopped down on one of the bunks. She was sure the younger ones would want the top bunks, which was fine with her. They were too close to the heat vents, anyway.

Linda stared at her. "The planet has not yet cast a shatow over her home continent. How is she already entering hibernation?"

She grinned as she mumbled 'Lind' under her breath. "Well, sleep, then. Why is, erm... I mean, when- ugh." She searched for the terms a human would understand. "Uh, is not this an odd time for her to sleep? When we left America, the solar star was still visible."

"Solar Star....? Oh the Sun? She is so tired she is sleeping. Humans most of the time sleep at night but some times when very tired will sleep in the day, she is just taking a nap," River said

Lara smiled at his descriptions before she and Donella picked out some new kinds to try. Lara picked the spicy kind to try while Donella went with one of the fruit flavors so they could both taste both kinds. The spicy was a bit much for Donella, but Lara liked it.

Crow was about to reply to Erin when Linda showed up. "Hi, Lynda," he greeted, recognizing the human specialist.


Frosty ate the seeds that Donella gave him and flew on to the counter. He gripped an apple with his foot and pecked it. He was annoyed how hard it was to break the skin of the apple with his tiny beak.

Dorian smiled as he watched them try the drinks. He was surprised and happy when he saw Lara not only took the same flavor as him but like it as well. This human was more like him, like a melee in some respects. For the first time since well forever he actually considered taking the chance on a bond. He had always thought Nemra was all he needed in that department but he found Lara very intriguing. He would of course get to know her a bit better first and make sure she was on board with it, he wasn't some sort of slave owner. He noticed Frosty having trouble with an apple and smiled pulling out his knife and moving to cut the apple up for him. "Here buddy let me help you out with that." He picked up the apple and cut it into several slices and set it skin side down so he could get to the flesh.
