In the Brooder
So, I finally got them! Last Saturday we got our first chickens. The feed store canceled one of the breeds I wanted, so I ended up with two Buff Orpingtons, a Silver Laced Wyandotte that we're calling Snips (my three year old nephew named her), and an Americauna (which is actually, probably, an Easter Egger, after doing some research), who is named Nickel.
Anyways, the Wyandotte and EE are about 2-3 weeks old, while the BOs are now a week old as of today.
The BOs are very friendly, and got used to me pretty fast. They hardly ever run away, and will even eat from my hand. The EE gets a little flightly, but calms down once you're holding her, and almost fell asleep in my hands today!
The Wyandotte, on the other hand, is super skittish.
I've been handling her and the others every day, taken her out in the yard, and everything that I could think of.
Is this just how Wyandottes are or is it just because she's still kinda young? Will it just take more work? Any tips or methods that have been successful?
