Hello, I’m an English woman living in France. I’ve posted this evening some problems I’ve had, see link https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/hens-in-the-hall.1218211/

Chicken keeping is very common here in France. At the moment I’m getting most things sent over from the U.K. This is mainly due to the high cost of foodstuff and the poor quality equipment here in France. Most things here are very basic as it’s assumed you’ll always know someone in the family who knows how to look after hens. I’m fortunate that I have French friends who know how to look after chickens. I checked, before I got chickens, how I could deal with them when the time came. My friend, who has 30 in his flock, said no problem, we’ll take them to his belle mere, his mother in law. She always deals with any issues!

I was never much of a south France trekker, but envy you for the Carrefour springtime wine sales. We would load down the Kombi each and every weekend those were going on it was amazing to cross the border from Germany and load up on cases of excellent French wines in the springtime at around 2 euro a bottle.

Welcome to BYC and I hope we prove to be the resource you want us to be!
