Boobie trap that cupboard !!

My dad once took the medicine cabinet out of the wall in his bathroom at the back of the house in the master suite where no one needed to go, filled it part way with marbles. (Just enough so that the magnet still worked to hold the door shut.)
He put it back and waited.

A relative whose nosiness was becoming a problem was due over for a holiday.

hehehe. We all knew where she was when she disappeared.

Sadly I don't think the bathroom (or even the kitchen) cupboards close tight enough to hold a piece of paper. I'll try it and see, perhaps near the hinge it would stay till opened...

I'm so darn terrified that if I did something like that I'd catch myself! I've been so close to just unpacking the cupboards so that they are so obviously empty the guilty party would know the minute they opened them that I KNOW what they're up to.

as a side note, my best friend, a person you'd never think would do such a thing, said the FIRST thing she'll do in a person's house is look in the bathroom cupboards. Now I told her if she comes for a visit, to give me warning as I have lots of neat things to put in those drawers that'll keep her busy for days !

I really wouldn't care if my best friend looked in my cupboards, I honestly have nothing in there to hide, but am starting to feel a little violated by this other person.. and if I do find out this person has been looking in my cupboards, well I'll have to have a strong word with my husband!

I saw nothing interesting when I did my little lookie Loo, but you werent home so you didnt notice.

You dont need to have a bunch of marbles, just set up the shelf so it leans slightly foward(most do naturally) just place one marble then hold it on shelf with piece of paper when door is opened the marble falls. You can do more than one marble but one falling will make enough racket that the guilty party will be scrambling to try to get it back in, or embarrassed enough not to check any more cabinets.

Now if you have the old style of METAL medicine cabinet, and a old electric cord, I could teach you how to truely make it so no one peeks again.

Are you able to get ahold of a small amount of dynamite?? How bad do you want this person to LEARN. Remember I was always taught, 1st and 2nd degree burns are just a good way of reinforced learning.

well at least someone can back me up that there is nothing exciting in those cupboards (who keeps exciting stuff in the bathroom anyway or am I missing something?)

Our medicine chest is very tiny, kinda recessed into the wall.. there is very little in that thing (in fact it took me a couple of months before I even realised it WAS a cupboard), the bulk of our meds and stuff are in the lower cupboards which are pretty big. One has all my hair junk in it, hair dryer, curling iron etc..
the drawers are what I bet the person will be more keen to check in, one drawer is mine, for all my girlie things (wax and junk - you know) and then one drawer is my hubby's (yes he keeps magazines in that -

) and top draw is just pretty much hair clips and ties, and other junk like tooth picks, floss etc.

(perhaps I need to get some magazines of my own and REALLY blow the lid off this whole deal!

His house is big enough, and old - so old that he'd ignore the creeks and junk if you were upstairs without him knowing. I bet you could stay the whole weekend and he wouldn't know.

(there is a window around the back of his place thats broken...)

Yes, and still do - I always leave it open just a crack so I don't have to struggle next time I go over for the weekend.
