Border Collie to Protect Chickens?

How is your BC doing now? Is it doing well with your chickens? We are thinking of getting a BC or a BC/pyr/Anatolian shepherd mix...

We have 150 chickens that need protection, and we are hesitant about a LGD wandering away...

We have 150 chickens that need protection, and we are hesitant about a LGD wandering away...

I have a male Border Collie with my chickens whom I free range. The trick to this is at first he would chase them until I would use a frisbee to take his attention away. I did this daily for a while and he lost interest in chasing the chickens. He now protects them all day long, at night the chickens always go to there coups to sleep on their own.
