Boston Terrier Returned!

Quote:
I joined so many years ago, but I think it takes a day or two to get through. You are going to love Woof! When I'm not here, I'm there. It's an amazing "community".

I have a phone number for "Whalom" but no one has answered the phone...so now I have emailed her. I"m amazed at how so many phone and email messages are ignored! I guess it is like trying to get a call back on a job!!!

Lurky found my family a Boston!

Will drive to Vermont to visit on June 13th...hope it works out, our fingers are crossed! She will be 4 weeks old at that point, families can check each other out...then I'll drive back later in the summer to get her!

I know I'm jumping in a little late and I have the dogs but not the chickens yet but... Bostons are the best dogs I've ever owned. We have 1.75 (the other .25 is pug).

I also have to contradict something that is said up thread-- Bostons are not actually terriers. They don't show in the terrier group at dog shows. They were bred from bulldogs and some extinct other kind of dog-- and they were bred to chase rats out of small holes so that bigger dogs could kill them.

We love ours, they are snuggle-bugs and so people-oriented. They do snore quite a bit so ours don't sleep in bed with us at night, but love to cuddle on the couch and I let them nap with me.

They would probably chase chickens a little but a good solid peck on the head would put an end to it. There was a wild turkey in our backyard yesterday (in Boston no less-- it looked like a juvenile or a small female) and my pups treed it but lost interest once it wasn't in front of their noses.

We have a Boston Terrier and he's a great dog. I got him from Boston Terrier Rescue Association over 10 years ago. I was in college at the time. He had belonged to an elderly alcoholic woman who neglected him, he was skin and bones when I got him. He was surrendered by her family. She probably bought him at a pet store and lost interest when he wasn't cute anymore.

He always has to sleep under the blankets. I just now tucked him in with my 7-year-old son. Son and Boston Terrier under the blankets, poodle on top of the blankets. Lights off. No talking!

My 3 boston terriers are wonderful around the animals. Kipp and Herbie are just interested in their food and the nanny berries.

Mac on the other hand is a very active guy. He has been helping my son by attempting to herd the animals into their pens at night.

Any dog is capable of killing chickens, etc. It is up to you, as a responsible pet owner, to make sure they have supervision and they are taught to leave it.
