we just had a bear in our trash the other night...huge..mom yelled and he ran off like her words shot him in the bum. I am so thankful for fearful bears...too many are problem bears that were caught from teh parks and released here in our woods....who then come down to our homes and become our problems.
If that was me...as upset as i would be, i'd get the game commission to come out and put in a bear trap to catch and relocate the bear. They did it for us on another occation.
Bears here in PA get 3 strikes they're out. A tag is put in a problem bears ear....if its' caught again doing something bad another tag in the remaining ear...if a bear with 2 tags is caught it's humanely put down. It's a good rule but honestly..i think if a first ime problem bear is caught a second time...that should be it's last time...not to be cruel...but ims orry if it's done it twice ofcourse it's going to do it a third time.
The biggest thing i'll put down for predation on my animals is a coyote...anything else i'd leave up to teh game commisson as i'd rather not get in deep doo doo with the law just my two cents.
However question are your goats far from your parents home? Goats are very vocal about pain so i assume they were crying. NOt saying that your parents should have heard it going on, but just curious why they ddint hear it.
