I have a couple bottle calves I bought spur of the moment. I don't have a shelter for them yet so I put them in with my chickens in the chicken house. My boss said that's not a good idea cause the chickens can give the calves a disease.. Has anyone heard of that?

I have zero experience with cows but Yorkshire coop has given you some great links to check out.

Good luck with all your animals!

Never heard of that, usually infectious diseases don't cross species, ie, chickens can't get mad cow, and cows can't get avian flu... Our birds and cows and sheep get along great. ;)

But there are several bacteria and pathogens that ALL farm animals share, such as e coli, listeria, and camphlobacter, which are passable to humans. Here's more info..

Welcome to BYC! There's very few but most diseases don't cross from mammal to avian and opposite.
