Two years ago I hatched four. It wasn't until about 5 months I was positive about the one. Ended up being four toms, so I ate them and started over this year. At seven months they dressed to about 11-13 pounds. Excellent flavor.


It's always hard to tell which ones are different when they're all the same isn't it?

as far as pecking order, is there way of telling such as the toms dont fight with the hens do they when they are young?
 
i ask cause my smallest, which i assume possibility it is a hen never gets fought with and has no visible signs biting on neck like several others.
 
My guess is it probably isn't challenging the pecking order so it's fine. My smallest turkey spent quite bit of time fighting instead of eating, so it was the smallest for write some time.
