Ooooohhh so exciting!!! I'm missing all the excitement back home (I'm living in an apartment for school) but man! It's always so very exciting when they start pipping.

Congrats and let us know how they do!

Ozark Hens you got poults? I had one hatch yesterday day 26 and now 1 on day 27 with one zipping and one pipped this is my first time too started with 7 shipped eggs and put 4 into lockdown. I hope all is well sending good hatching vibes to everyone

How's your hatch going????

I have 6 out of 8, but just barely. One took too long and shrink-wrapped itself, so it was glued to the inside of the egg (and rescued just in time!), and so I checked the other two that were taking too long and found one really weak. I thought that it was having the same issue, but come to find out it had pipped a few days too early and the yolk wasn't fully absorbed, so it was actually in the dying process. (Bummer.) The last one had the same issue, but not nearly as bad, so it will probably live, although it's still sort of weak. I stuck a little Bandaid over the navel so the others won't pick at it. I'm sure once it gets some time to rest up a little, it will be fine. The last egg hasn't shown any signs of life, but I'm not giving up on it just yet. None of these were supposed to hatch until tomorrow!

Well when I got up this morning I thought all were dead as there was no progress and as I turned to walk away from the 'bator I heard cheeping! I got the flashlight and looked real good and sure enough the one I had turned over was sticking it's beak out and cheeping. Everyone else is in the same stage..or so it seemed since yesterday morning. We had to run to Springfield (Dr appointment and it was an all day away deal)when I got home I thought for sure I would have poults...nope nothing yet, and getting very concerned. Now I just went in there and a couple have zipped half way around the egg and are in the bottom portion right now. Today is day 28 so I am going to be patient...

and wait till morning and see what we have by then. This is more stressful than hatching chicks!! Or maybe it is because it is the first time for turkey eggs! Good luck everyone.
