Hey everyone, I have had turkeys in the past but they were just the meat birds from our local feed store. I've decided to add a small flock of bourbon reds to my heritage breed poultry farm. Buying 6 poults in a couple weeks. I've done a lot of research into the breed before I contacted a breeder for some but I'm just wondering what everyone thinks of them and looking for some different experiences people maybe had with them. I will keep the best tom and 3 to 4 hens from the group as permient breeders to stay on my farm. Thanks in advance and can't wait to hear any advice givin.

My bourbons are really curious. All most to the point of being a pest.

Usually they are fairly calm.

Good mothers. I just had one hatch out 3 yesterday. But the whole time she was brooding there was another hen that hatched 2 poults. If the hen flew out to eat she took care of the poults.

I have 2 toms 4 hens.

Turkeys are a whole lot better than chickens. Much more personality.

Congrats good luck

Well, it's a few days late. But here they are my bourbon reds 10 of them to start my breeding program. Can't wait to see how they grow and turn out. And especially excited to start hatching from them next year.
