Sorry for the poor quality. 5months old, have been told it’s a girl but looks like it has saddle feathers? Any thoughts?

Oh gosh. For five months old I'd say it's a girl, but the feather quality is quite rough, and I wouldn't be surprised if he were stunted. Did you just get it? What's going on with it's feathers? Why are they so raggedy?

she is so raggedy!! I’ve had her since a chick and at about 3 weeks old she got really crook because we had flooding and stagnant water. Same care since then as all of my other chooks who are big and beautiful - here’s the full pic. No crowing yet but no egg laying either. I’m very puzzled.

Interesting. I'm going to hesitantly say pullet, however, if she ended up being an extremely slow-developing cockerel I would not be surprised.

I have a friend who had a young cockerel not show signs of being a male till 6-7 months of age.

They’ve got a spacious coop and free range most days, and I’ve never seen them picking on her. As long as she doesn’t start crowing I’ll wait and see how she goes

I think I do see a few saddles here. Update us in 2 more weeks.
