she is so raggedy!! I’ve had her since a chick and at about 3 weeks old she got really crook because we had flooding and stagnant water. Same care since then as all of my other chooks who are big and beautiful - here’s the full pic. No crowing yet but no egg laying either. I’m very puzzled.Oh gosh. For five months old I'd say it's a girl, but the feather quality is quite rough, and I wouldn't be surprised if he were stunted. Did you just get it? What's going on with its feathers? Why are they so raggedy?
Interesting. I'm going to hesitantly say pullet, however, if she ended up being an extremely slow-developing cockerel I would not be surprised.she is so raggedy!! @Overo Mare, thoughts?
They’ve got a spacious coop and free range most days, and I’ve never seen them picking on her. As long as she doesn’t start crowing I’ll wait and see how she goesAt 5 months I see hen but looks like kept in an eclosure thats too small. Might be a runt or just from bullying
I think I do see a few saddles here. Update us in 2 more weeks. Some better photos. She really is a ratty looking chook. Also forgot to mention she’s meant to be an orpington!
