Boyfriend's birthday coming up, need ideas please!!

A CD of his favorite Christian band and some guitar strings. Trust me, one can never have too many guitar strings. Go to a music store in your area and ask them what gauge strings to get.

I'm not sure what his favorite Christian band is...I know he also likes some songs by the band, "System of a Down" (not a Christian band...but he still likes some of their songs), but I'm not sure if he already has all their song already.

But the guitar strings are a good idea.

Although I also don't know what kind of guitar he has exactly (besides acoustic).

i'd suggest going to a music store and asking them for advice. strings, picks, a guitar strap. i like to give several smaller gifts rather than one big one, so if it were me, i'd get him some sort of bag or box that he can use for other stuff, and fill it with smaller things that he likes, like the swedish fish, maybe a CD (even a homemade mix CD of songs you both like or something would be sweet) or itunes gift card (because a lot of us don't use CDs anymore), guitar picks, a pack of strings, a guitar strap, things like that. You said he likes System of a Down- see if you can get a book of their music for guitar, places like Sam Ash and Guitar Center usually have stuff like that. I tend to go overboard when shopping for gifts, so if it were me, I'd probably also buy him a gig bag (soft case for his guitar) and try to fill that up with stuff.

basically, a few little things that show him you've been paying attention to his interests.

I like the personalized guitar picks, and perhaps a CD or gift certificate to the guitar shop he frequents? Three months is still fairly new, don't want to set the bar too high and make him feel like he has to reciprocate.

Very nice that you are trying to find something special for him.

That just gave me a great idea!

There's a local music instrument/guitar shop with pretty much everything you could ever need for a guitarist.

Maybe I could get a gift card to the guitar shop (along with the Swedish fish, a homemade card with a drawing on it, and a lacrosse shirt), and tadaa! The perfect gift.

And it's not that pricey either...Probably the most expensive will be the gift card (what would be a good price to put on it? $20?) and the lacrosse shirt. But overall, it's not that bad.

Thanks everyone!

If he like them, then he likes Skillet, which is a Christian band.

Or if that's too much...then I could skip the lacrosse shirt and go with a homemade card with drawing, Swedish fish, and gift card. Then again, I don't know why, but I've always felt like gift cards were the easy way out on a gift...they don't really have any personal meaning. Maybe that's not in this case, but I'm not sure if a gift card is as thoughtful as the gift could be.

The drawing/homemade card, for example, would have a lot more thought put into it. Then again, I've also heard that it can be tricky when buying clothes for a guy, especially early on in the relationship. Still, you can't go wrong with a nice, simple sweatshirt for his favorite sport, and in his favorite color. Should I go with all of it (card/drawing, Swedish fish, lacrosse shirt, and gift card), or the card/drawing, Swedish fish, and gift card, or the card/drawing, Swedish fish, and lacrosse shirt?

Maybe I'm just thinking too much into all of it...

Oh, I didn't know Skillet was a Christian band. Thanks!
