Good choice, a hen will make a better pet. A male will jump you eventually. You marked her w/food coloring?? OK. What color?

You might see if your mom will let you keep her in the cage by your bed at night while shes little. You want her to bond with you.

green LOL, I feel kinda bad some of them are pecking her. and I have no idea the sex, but i have seen some of them strut, so cute. Our hens would strut if you got in there face, i learned the hard way that if you put your face in turkeys face, you will get a scab on your nose LOL

Doubt it, but I can smuggle her in my room

a 1 x 1 box with just your lamp leaned over it and a cake pan over the top will keep her plenty warm. I use 20 watt bulbs in my little boxes. You can also put a heating bad on low under the box, and line it with a folded kitchen or hand towel to keep her warm. I'd just put another towel over the top halfway to hold in some heat, and let some go. Then, the light won't give you away......

Do you have an electric blanket?? fold it up, plug it on, and surrond her box with it, or wrap her up a bit, and slip her into bed with you.

Yep. I was a farm kid, don't think I havn't smuggled in animals. I've slept with baby lambs, baby goats, and a plethera of birds. Been there, done that. My first bird, Turkiin (a naked neck) pretty much was a room pet for about 3 monthes, until my mom worked out why she kept hearing crowing from upstairs. LOL He got evicted to the hen house then. If he's been a she, I'dve had her up there until I graduated high school!

Just keep your room clean and the dishes out, so you mom won't feel the need to inspect your room. I'd take the baby out with the others when you go to school though.

LOL,i should tell you stories of smuggling snakes in my grandmas house, shes SCARED of snakes, once they were drinking coffee and I held a snake up to the window and she screamed and spilt her coffee (not on her tho *phew*) doesnt help tho my mom was laughing too LOL

I wish we had lambs and goats to smuggle inside, I would smuggle in Gryphon if he didnt crow
