Which will be the best to buy. I have chick starter for now but am running to the feed store today. Should I get gamebird starter or gamebird feed? What do they eat as adults? I do not want to buy a big back of feed that they cannot eat. Thanks!

BQ = Button Quail?

I feed my Buttons cat food chopped up in the blender small enough for them to eat, plus whatever seeds my parakeets drop down to them from their seed mix. Plus some fresh greens or green grass seed heads and I have parakeet grit/sand available for them for grit.

They seem to be doing fine on that...

Higher protein is the key, whatever you get - 24% or higher.

What about layer rations with good quality cat food blended in? I am trying to figure out if there is a way to "combine" the feed I already have. I will purchase another type of feed for pets but would love to keep the number of different feed down to a minimum. We have dog food, fish food, cat food, pond fish food, rabbit food and now need button quail food. Whew! Is there any way to mix any of the above for the buttons?
