Bra or Broody Dilemma - UPDATED PICS

OMG!!! That.is.awesome!!!!
I have to admit I have seriously considered it because I have one egg about 5/6 days ahead of the rest in the incubator- it would solve my dilemna about whether shutting the turner off in my bator would compromise the later eggs when it comes to lockdown for the first egg......
My problem is that my "girls" are size F and Im pretty sure a lil chickie would be crushed or at the very least, suffocated in my sports bra

had to laugh to but maybe you could sort of nestle them in, and be happy you have big boobies lol most would kill or pay to have biger girls

This is awesome LOL! I remember reading about how women used to do this a hundred years ago or so...
I was scrolling down through and came to the picture, my son who's 6, and sitting next to me on the couch this morning watching a movie,
says," Wait! Go Back!"(looks at picture)
"Awww!" (still looking)
(looks closer and frowns)
"Wait a minute is that a LADY!"
I said yes and explained what was going on, and he says,"YOU should do THAT!"
Your really impressing the members of my household!

I am so glad to find this thread even if it is almost 3 months old!

I have a first time broody Serama who hatched out two little peepers today and just flipped out! I had to remove the two babies to save them from her and when I candled the other three eggs I found two duds (early quitters) and one little fuzzy butt patiently pecking away.....no pip yet.

I had shut my incubators down a month or two ago and knew it would take too long to get them up to the correct and stable temp, so I stuck the egg in my bra where I am hoping it will be warm and moist enough to hatch in the next 24 hours.

If I had not found this thread and seen that it can be done and how encouraging everyone was about it, I might have taken my DH's advice and tossed it out.

We'll see what happens!

What a nail biter! lol

If you go back a little more than 3 months, there is a thread about a woman who brooded a chick or two (I forget) for the ENTIRE 21 days in her bra. She slept in a recliner, as I recall. And yes, she was successful.

That is, both seriously AND hilariously, the most adorable "momma hen" photo I have ever seen. Ever.

If not Backyard Poultry, then maybe in one of the Internet-based newsletters from one of the hatcheries... as an alternative. Or something. But I love that photo!!!

You GO girl!

I am so happy that someone else is going to try this as well. When I did it, the Pacific NW was having a little heatwave and I don't tolerate heat very well, so I was hot and sweaty providing the right conditions.

I'm going to warn you though, once the chick hatches don't keep it in your bra to dry off. I did that with the first one to hatch while the second one was zipping and that first one turned out to be a big cry baby because it got used to me taking to it and holding it. However, if you want a chick to bond with you, then leave it there.

Good luck - I can't wait to hear how it goes. My chicks would peck away but then sleep for a while, so don't think anything is wrong with your little one if it gets quiet. I would get concerned and chirp at the egg and then tap on it if I didn't hear a chirp back.

UPDATE: My two chicks are doing well in the sunroom in a large stock tank. One roo that is crowing now and one pullet. I've been waiting for them to get big enough to protect themselves before putting them out in the coop of 30+ chickens of various ages.
