Beth....yes, Moel (pronounced MOYLE) is not exactly a name....it's the Welsh word for bald .....so, I'm a bit ashamed to say we essentially called her Baldy. She now is heavily feathered, so her name doesn't fit any more either.
Moel thanks everyone for appreciating the fact that a lot of us don't cull the odd looking chicks as they can turn out just to be 'late bloomers'
We have a few others who have Welsh names, Twp (pronounced Toop), Welsh for stupid....a lovely Blue Partridge Brahma boy who was forever getting lost as a chick. He has grown into a fine young man, who, though low down the pecking order, manages to mate with more of the girls than any of the others as he waits until a girl wanders off from the main crowd and ......she's his. So he isn't stupid at all!
I also have Arian (Welsh for silver) whose down were silvery at hatching, who has turned out to be Arianne.
Anyway, the fluffy jumper looks like it will come in very handy for my 6 year old Warren....called simply Warrren.....she has age related feather loss, so will benefit from a bit of extra round her middle!
