I think it wise, and I myself lean toward a featherfooted bird.
As impressive an animal as a good Cornish is, you have to be seriously dedicated, and maybe a little touched to raise them.
My Father is so afflicted. I have never seen a bird so bent on their own demise. I don't know if all varietys are like this, but his standard whites are very game. Even the hens will duke it out over anything. Then with their build,when the do get knocked over, they are like turtles on their backs,except they can't right themselves. As the man in the striped overalls used to say,
