Brahma question

Hi all. I had a question about Light buff Brahma. Are they good egg layers?
And what's the size of the egg?

my brahmas lay brown eggs and the do quite well! I have some that have been laying for over 3 years.

Mine are and have always been great layers even in winter out doing my buff and blue orps.... ....they are turning 5 and 6 years old now so slowing down abit, just added new pullets to the flock...they lay a large cream, to light brown egg....

How do yours handle heat? My roo isn't taking it very well. Doesn't seem to be bothering the pullet, just him.

ezbird, brahmas come in light or buff or dark. Not light buff.

Oh sorry, new to Brahmas. Use to have RIR & White Leghorns, my RIR were the best egglayers. But I don't want RIRs anymore, thought I try a different breed and ones that are really friendly.

I really like Brahmas and believe they have a lot of personality but for a chicken, they take life on their own terms.

My brahma cock handled the heat fine. He does overheat a little faster than the other chickens (i found him dustbathing and all the others were scratching for bugs) but a little shade in their pen should be fine.

Plus of course several waterers with fresh water. He seems like maybe he's doing a little better with the heat now, but it's still bothering him much more than the others.
