I’m not selling yet.
Most of my brahmas haven’t even started laying yet never mind hatching eggs.

I’ve made my selling descriptions because I like to be prepared, feel free to help change them up a bit and help make them better.

Those are some wild 'breeds'....neat looking birds!
Are these common in your area?

The use of 'pure' and 'mixed' is misleading...loose the 'pure'.
be more clear about the cross by adding 'cock' and 'hen' to parentage description.
Also that add shows 2 males, show a female too.

If saying 'show quality' better be sure they meet the SOP and/or cite shows your stock have won. Your stock, not the breeder you bought them from.

Agrees a hatching date should be given...at what age are you selling them?
Add how buyer will get birds, do you ship, deliver in person, or do they have to pick up at your place.
Also state how payment/deposit is expected to be handled.
Selling is tricky, lots of work, and can fraught with complications,
have you done it before?

Not common in my area.
I bought them as hatching eggs from a breeder that breeds them for show. I can contact them asking about the parent birds.
Not sure on what age yet. Maybe sell at 15 -20 weeks old ?
Deliver in person or come pick up.
I might sell some hatching eggs and ship them.
Never have sold pure bred chickens before.

Do you think there's a real market for them?
That can be tough....and you can end up with a bunch of birds no one wants to buy.
I was planning on selling OE chicks this year,
but someone else local is already advertising them at half the price.

Definitely get more info from the breeder.

Selling hatching eggs, day old chicks(straight run), or POL(Point Of Lay) pullets all have their pros and cons.

Having folks who already have chickens come to your place can be a bio-security risk.
Have plan to keep them out of and away from your coops/runs.

To me, saying "Show Quality" would imply that you've shown these lines and done well, and have enough experience to pick out that these specific chicks you are selling would do well in shows. Simply being from show lines would not make "show quality" birds, and I would be disappointed if the individuals were not.

I would probably say something like, "____ Color Brahma chicks hatched (date) from show lines."

The Breeder I got them off said The parent birds have been showed and have done well.
Wouldn’t they be show quality then ? Would It be best to show these birds I have myself before I can call their young show quality?
:)

I'm new-ish to exhibition poultry and haven't shown myself yet, but in all the advertising I've seen, in birds in particular, saying they are show quality means you have evaluated the individuals and feel they would show well. Breeders will also advertise birds as "breeder quality" which means the birds have a flaw but feel they have good value in other areas, so if you have a match that's strong in the flawed area, that bird would be useful to you.

With birds, it's just so variable in the chick quality that you can't just put Show Cock A with Show Hen B and say this is a Show Brood C. You're going to have great individuals, okay ones, and some poor ones.

I'm not an expert, and I'm in the US, but that's what I'd assume if you said show quality chicks, that you had evaluated them and found them to each be a specimen worthy of show. Thus, I'd say "from show lines" instead.

:)
