Hi there, I have owned several breeds and of the dual purpose I’ve raised the Black Copper Marans seem to have gained the weight the quickest. They are quite very friendly and mild mannered. I also had Cookoo Marans which were a little skidish and didn’t get as heavy. The Buff Orphingtons were very friendly and good egg layers but were very broody. Good luck deciding it’s hard to do with so many breeds to choose from.
