Hi there. It was broody hatched. We have a really good mama and we honestly werent really expecting anything until we heard peeping right through the shell
Yes, shes sitting on 4 more. But weve also had a bit of a problem with pooping right on the eggs. Weve read that that can cause problems and contaminate the egg. Do you know anything about that?

I had a few chicks die that hatched from contaminated eggs and luckily my Marans are the type that would never poop in a nesting box. My broody Easter Egger... Well that's a different story. 
Anyway, I would lightly clean the poop off just to be safe before any bacteria suddenly spreads through the pores. Just my suggestion. Anyway, hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
