Brand new silkie with weepy eyes

Tylan 50 injectable (from feed store) given orally 3 times a day (0.25 ml per pound) for 5 days or Tylosin powder in the water 1 tsp per gallon of water (available online) can help treat symptoms if this is mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG.) MG is a chronic respiratory disease which can come back again latre during periods of stress, and survivors are carriers. Bubbles in an eye, swelling of the eyelid or face are some of the symptoms of MG. You could try and get some testing to confirm.

Where do I get testing done and can it wait till she’s better? ( if she gets better 😬) will she test positive in periods when she doesn’t actively have it?

Nope as there is no cure for mg meds hide symptoms until stress brings it back out again
How do I know if it’s mg or just an eye injury ? Again she has zero symptoms besides the eye no wheezing no sneezing no breathing difficulties eating drinking and running around just fine etc

Not all get the other symptoms you would need to get it tested

Yes it can be done with or without symptoms but testing will still know if its a carrier and not sure where to take it as any bird i have with bubbles got culled only ever had a problem when buying adults. Now that I dont buy adults never had an issue again
