Hey All! Greetings from Minnesota! My name is Emma and we just ordered our first mini-flock of chickens. We have a small hobby farm with horses and children On April 22nd, we will add 3 Rhode Island Reds and 3 Buff Orpingtons to our lil farm! I have a son, Logan - 4, and a daughter, Anna-almost 2, and a hubby, Matt, who only drives me crazy half of the time. Hubby showed chickens in 4-h as a boy, but I am completely cluck-cluck clueless! So any pointers will be much appreciated!

Hello and Welcome To BYC! Congratulations on your soon to be chicks! Nice breed selection, they should lay you lots of eggs, chickens are a great family project, you'll have lots of fun with them.
A great place to start reading is the BYC Learning Center, lots of good articles on all aspects of chicken keeping https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

You do sound Egg-cited!! And you ordered some great chicks too. They will be a friendly bunch of birds and lay well for you. Definitely stop by the learning center here on BYC for lots of great reads on all the things you are going to need to know. Kelsie left you with the link there.
Enjoy your new babies and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
I can't wait! We have stopped by our local Tractor Supply Company, and everytime I just want to take them home! But hubby insisted we get exactly what we want. So I guess I will just have to be patient. The kids don't know we are getting them yet either!
