This is the one everyone here believes is a cockerel as well. Here are the pics over two week update…
I’m thinking all 3 Moss Eggers are Cockerels.
They are 12 weeks old today.
Definitely a cockerel. This is the one everyone here believes is a cockerel as well.
He doesn’t act like the other two. He hasn’t crowed. He’s much smaller than the other two, but he has a much more developed waddle & comb than the other two Moss Eggers.
Just posted a pic of the other oneWith those combs and wattles they are 100% cockerels.

Oh! You just posted! Didn’t see that before I posted.Just posted a pic of the other one
Yes… I thought so.Definitely a cockerel.
Crowing is an individual thing, so it varies from bird to bird when they crow, some crow younger, and some crow when they're quite a bit older. Also a reason for not crowing yet is because one of your other cockerels is the more dominant one.
Culling them yourself is the quickest way to get rid of them I'd say.Yes… I thought so.
I’m getting more comfortable with the idea of culling.
We can’t have 3 roosters. I also feed them so well, I don’t want someone on Craigslist to be able to eat what we’ve raised so well, for free. And I don’t think we can find 3 breeders who want a hybrid rooster for their own breeding program. Maybe one, but not 3.![]()
If we’re going to cull, we’ll wait until they’re as big as they get. We still may keep one rooster, but we can’t keep 3.Culling them yourself is the quickest way to get rid of them I'd say.
If you do decide to cull, you could probably do it anytime now.
I keep thinking this “cockerel” is fooling me. The tail is what’s getting me.With those combs and wattles they are 100% cockerels.

They will be 15 weeks old on Monday.I keep thinking this “cockerel” is fooling me. The tail is what’s getting me.
What do you guys think?
The white one on the right is def a cockerel… it’s the white one on the left that I’m talking about.
“He” looks so much like my gals, with the tail feathers.![]()
