Elizabeth, I feel your pain. I am a very slow starter in the morning too.

I have no yummy solutions to a quick ready-made breakfast. But sometimes the night before I have to get up extra early to exercise, I make a smoothie out of
1. yogurt
2. skim milk
3. half scoop of protein powder or Slimfast or similar
4. thawed strawberries that I keep in the freezer
5 and/or cut-up banana

I just take it out of the fridge and gulp.

Oh yum smoothies yes I need to make these more

ok here you go, my kids favorite eat and run Breakfast . . . no lifting required;

breakfast parfait
Mix plain (not vanilla) low fat yogurt with fresh sliced banana & real honey. put in a med tall cup and top with homemade crunchy granola. Cover a refrigerate overnite (this makes the granola get soft).

Well I am not a breakfast eater - just are not one. My stomach wakes up around 11 or noon.....sometimes not until 2 while the rest of me is up and doing chores/housework at 6/7 AM. I have a cup of coffee in the morning (DH says it is not coffee - but milk flavored coffee

) and then nothing until my stomach says so.

Sometimes, not often but sometimes I want something and what I found works for me is...........

.........oatmeal cookies with raisins or other dried fruit. I do not like the cookies to be too sugary, just soft and yummy.

Good idea!! I can make a super healthy oatmeal cookie with agave and some protein powder or something!

And yeah that's basically me - but I really really need to start eating breakfast. I DO feel better when I do the entire day - but I have a hard time actually eating the darned thing.

About a month ago I had a really horrible bout of acid reflux - thought I was having a heart attack. After a trip to the emergency room and a boatload of tests the doctor prescribed Nexium 40mg and a long list of DON'TS...
No coffee, no wine, no tomato products, no cigars, no late heavy meals. Heck a fella could go plum crazy sticking to regimen. There are days I want coffee (we make the best espresso from freshly roasted beans) but it's just no cool - I can tell if I need to lay low... So now I have what I make my wife every morning for breakfast: greek yoghurt, a banana sliced, an orange peeled with a sharp knife cut into chunks and a Big handful of blueberries. Really very good and if you ate all that fruit you are doing your body a whole world of good. Occasionally I'll toss a small Big handful of granola on hers to crunch it up. This is so very good and takes a few minutes to plate.

oh they all seem to get lost around 18 or 20, but they come home once they get hungry and realize that mom is the only one in the world who will do all that heavy lifting and make breakfast for them
